Ultrasonic Liposuction

Ultrasonic Liposuction is different from traditional liposuction because it uses ultrasonic sound waves to “melt” fat from the body, making it easier and more efficient for fat removal. It is a form of liposuction that is particularly helpful in removing fat around the neck, chest, abdomen, hips/flanks, and outer/inner thighs.

 

Who should consider Ultrasonic Liposuction?

In general, good candidates for ultrasonic liposuction will have a stable body weight that is within 25 lbs of ideal weight, realistic expectations, and be at least 18 years old.  Other criteria for liposuction candidates includes the following:

  • Stubborn areas of fat on the body that do not respond to diet or exercise
  • Good skin tone and elasticity
  • Understand the risks of surgery

How long does it take to recover after ultrasonic liposuction?

Recovery time will vary for each patient, but most patients return to normal activities within a week. and some patients are able to return to work within a few days.  There is some discomfort for the first few days after surgery, but pain can usually be managed with medication and by walking around to loosen the muscles.  Dr. Maddali recommends his patients wear a compression garment for 3 to 6 weeks to decrease swelling and provide comfort.  If a significant amount of fat has been removed, recovery time may be longer for those patients.

 

Results of Ultrasonic Liposuction

For the next several months, the skin will begin to tighten, revealing the dramatic results of Ultrasonic Liposuction.  It can take between 3 to 6 months for all the swelling to disappear after liposuction. If anything unusual occurs, or if you simply have questions, Dr. Maddali will be avaialble during your recovery period and in months following.
