Buttock Lift

A buttock lift is performed to improve the appearance of the bottom and lower back. The buttock lift shapes the buttocks, contours the upper thighs, and tightens skin to reduce the appearance of dimpling. The surgery may include the removal of excess skin and fat around the buttocks.

If a fuller shape is desired, fat injections can be performed to add volume during the lift. If a smaller rear is desired, liposuction can be used to sculpt and reduce the buttocks area.

Candidates

Ideal candidates are patients with a sagging buttock as a result of:

  • Age
  • Poor skin elasticity
  • Dramatic weight loss
  • Deformation due to injury or burns
  • Cellulite buildup

A buttock lift will vastly improve the general shape of the buttocks and will usually improve the appearance of the outer thighs.

How is a buttock lift surgery performed?

Buttock lift surgery can be performed in several ways, usually through a combination of liposuction and the removal of excess skin. A buttocks lift is often combined with a thigh lift to effectively improve the entire region.

In all cases, it is important to undergo a thorough consultation with Dr. Maddali to discuss your goals and the limitations of the surgery.

Recovery and Results

Recovery time will vary according to the procedure and whether it was paired with enhancement or reduction. For most patients, most of the swelling and pain should dissipate within a month. Full recovery may take several months. Potential scarring should be discussed with Dr. Maddali, as it will vary based on the procedure.
